Today I saw a Great Egret hunting lizards right next to the trail by the lake. It was a spectacle and many stopped to observe. Looks like I need to get to ...Thanks for the info. Looks like I need to get to Palo Alto Baylands ASAP. I would think there's probably a lot of action at Shoreline, too. I have also noticed a lot more activity even in my own backyard birds. The lesser goldfinches (most of them) are in their breeding plumage. And the mourning doves are quite "frisky."
